Op zijn 13e vluchtte Wiam Al-Zabari (1982) weg uit zijn geboorteland Irak. In Nederland ontwikkelde hij een liefde voor dans. Door te dansen voelde Wiam zich vrij en het gaf hem een plaats in de Nederlandse samenleving. Hij besloot dansvideoclips te maken en ontdekte hierdoor zijn tweede liefde; films maken. Wiam studeerde in 2008 af aan de HKU.
